NEWLY RELEASED VERSION OF MAPCARD OFFERS GPS INTEGRATION TOOLS AND PROFESSIONAL QUALITY MAP PRINTS

Eagan, MN/Red Lodge, MT -- The award-winning website, www.MapCard.com, had added an important new feature that allows GPS users to automatically upload and download waypoints and GPS routes, the company announced today. The new automated GPS interface is part of a redesign of the company’s subscription-based website and consumer product.

MapCard, which was awarded Backpacker Magazine’s Editors’ Choice for Best New Product of 2003, has been lauded for its innovative approach and simplicity. By leveraging the Internet, the MapCard system provides outdoor enthusiasts with an affordable and easy way to print, save and annotate their own maps. Subscribers gain access to a comprehensive mapping system that includes nationwide U.S. Geological Survey topographic maps and aerial photos, lake contour data, road and highway overlays, public land survey data, and an impressive suite of annotation tools.

MapCard Version 2.0 has several important distinctions. The new MapCard Pro option provides subscribers with a tool that allows them to automatically transfer waypoints and routes to and from any recreational GPS. The Pro edition also features annotation tools; a detailed road overlay system; and access to high-resolution, professional output options for printing maps.

For non-GPS users, a standard version of MapCard is available that includes nationwide topos and aerial photos and a sophisticated suite of mapping tools that can be used to annotate with text and drawing tools, measure distances, and add symbols.

"We are particularly excited about our new GPS integration tools in the Pro edition," said Kevin Toohill, vice president of technology. "Everyday outdoor enthusiast can now precisely map their property, hunting camp or recreation area, and create quality maps with their own computers and printers."

Consumers gain access to MapCard by purchasing an actual credit-card sized ‘MapCard’ that is uniquely coded, like a phone card, to provide the purchaser a one year subscription to the dynamic mapping website, www.mapcard.com. Subscriptions are available at leading retailers, such as Gander Mountain, Cabalas, Sportsmen’s Warehouse and large and small sporting goods stores nationwide. They can also be purchased and renewed online at www.mapcard.com.

In addition to being selected to receive the Backpacker Magazine Editors’ Choice award, MapCard has been “Field Test Approved” by the North American Hunting Club, and is slated to be named “Best of the Best of 2003 in the December ’03 issue of Field and Stream Magazine.

MapCard is the first subscription-based mapping website of its kind. Its efficient use of technology ensures that MapCard subscribers have access to the most up-to-date content available. The subscriber does not have to download additional software or purchase new version to keep their mapping capability current.

MapCard Pro retails for $29.95, and MapCard Standard retails for $14.95 online, and may be available for less at retailers carrying the product. A free 24 hour test-drive of MapCard is available at www.MapCard.com. For information, call 1-877-587-9004 or send an email to support@mapcard.com.
